This workbook is developed from course notes and information prepared for and used in seminars variously titled THERE IS LIFE AFTER RETIREMENT, RETIRE FROM WORK BUT NOT FROM LIFE, LOOKING AHEAD, NEW DIRECTIONS and eventually CHANGING DIRECTION PROGRAMS. Although initially designed for people approaching retirement, it became obvious in the presentations that people who experienced other similar dramatic/traumatic changes in life, which involved leaving the workforce, had many issues in common.
The aim of CHANGING DIRECTION PROGRAMS, and of this workbook, is to develop effective ways of thinking about and managing the social, physical, financial and legal aspects of such major changes of direction as retirement, redundancy, retrenchment and even relocation. The purpose is to prepare participants in dealing with their lives following such a major change, or even if they are just not sure where the rest of their life is going.
