EDITORIAL

A WAY WITH WORDS ...

Researching text and images for use in printed material is a core ingredient in the communications process. Getting the facts correct is an essential part of the exercise. Defining the scope and impact of what information is being conveyed to the reader is all part and parcel of delivering the story...

At Museum Imagineers, we work closely with curators and museum store managers to research, define and interpret aspects of a museum's collection.

At Honeysett Press, we work as a professional team in producing quality publications to world's best practice.

At GeoGraphics Group, our creative, artwork and print management delivers quality printing results on time, every time. We're at your service.

POSTER PERFECT

St Joseph's College is notably the largest boarding school for boys in the southern hemisphere. Located at Hunters Hill, in Sydney's inner western suburbs, this Catholic Marist high school has a proud history as a GPS (Great Public Schools) institution.

Joey's boys are especially renowned for their rugby and rowing prowess.

GeoGraphics Group recently produced a series of high quality large laminated posters for Joey's which show students of the school at work and play. These were created digitally from photographs which were enhanced and featured the school's cerise and blue colours, as well as their official logo.

Go to www.joeys.org to learn more about this leading educational institution.

MARY MACKILLOP PLACE MUSEUM ... POSTCARDS

A new series of six PostCards have been designed and produced for Mary MacKillop Place Museum in North Sydney.

Mary MacKillop (1842-1909) is Australia's first Saint. She was beatified in a ceremony conducted by Pope John Paul II on 19 January 1995 in Sydney. An aerial view of the building façade is pictured.

In 1866, blessed Mother Mary met Father Julian Tenison Woods and together they started a new school in Penola in South Australia. It was a church school where education was free to all children. The Sisters of St Joseph was formed soon thereafter, the first religious order founded by an Australian.

Mary MacKillop was indeed an inspirational, pioneer Australian woman. She dedicated her life to care for those in need, irrespective of their background.

Mary MacKillop Place Museum commissioned Museum Imagineers to produce a series of six PostCards featuring aerial photography of the museum precinct and the Chapel, stained glass windows, the Altar panel and Raffaele Gagliardi's oil on canvas portrait, painted in 1925, which is exhibited in the Museum's foyer.

Original, professional photography was commissioned by GeoGraphics Group to create spectacular colourful images. These have been expertly scanned as hero shots for the PostCards. The images are accompanied by succinct text, which each tell a story about Mary MacKillop.

HANDS ON MYMOUSEMAT

Museum Imagineers have developed a unique and holistic educational MyMouseMat for museums, which can tell a story about natural history, ancient artifacts, performing arts, heritage buildings, myths and legends, historic figures, living creatures and cultural icons. MyMouseMats are interesting and accurately researched products featuring invaluable educational content as annotated text, enriching a visitor's museum experience and enhancing the marketing potential of these institutions. Manufactured from quality material, MyMouseMats look and feel different from conventional old-style vinyl or rubber mouse pads. The patented embossed surface grips the mouse ball and stops mouse ball glide (when you have to tap your mouse to activate the cursor). This surface also allows the new generation of optical mice to track error-free. The anti-skid backing stops it sliding around your desk.

Museum Imagineers can assist you by offering many years of publishing expertise and world's best practice in creating quality custom made merchandise, ideally as a collaborative effort between your museum's education / curatorial / marketing / design / store professionals and our team. We specialize in services from initial concept development to research of images and text material, copywriting, editing, artwork and photography and can take your idea from concept to finished product.

Our design solutions are innovative and attractive. We offer state-of-the-art printing and publishing services. Utilizing digital technology and the internet we are able to provide electronic proofing and efficient service.
